1. Technical Integrity & Fair Play
1.1 Illegal Client Modifications & Account Security: The use of stolen or illegitimate accounts/The use of is strictly prohibited and results in a permanent ban.
- Allowed Modifications: Performance mods (OptiFine), HUD mods (Armor/Effect status), Minimaps, Free-cam, Replay mod, aesthetic-only mods, Litematica, and Schematica.
- Prohibited Modifications: The use of cheat clients, macros, or any software that provides an unfair gameplay advantage over others is strictly forbidden.
- Verification: If you are unsure if a mod is legal, contact staff before using it.
1.2 Complicity Assisting, participating in, or knowingly benefiting from another player’s rule-breaking is treated as a direct violation. You will face the same penalties as the primary offender.
1.3 Exploits and Bug Abuse Exploiting server bugs or technical oversights is forbidden. Users must report bugs to staff immediately; failure to do so while benefiting from an exploit may result in a permanent ban.
1.4 Alternative Accounts (Alts) You are limited to one account per person. Account sharing is prohibited.
- Penalties: Alts are banned immediately. Main accounts will receive a warning for the first offense and a permanent ban for the second.
- Shared Connections: Multiple people may play from the same IP (e.g., family), provided each person only operates their own unique account.
- Account Swapping: Contact staff if you need to change your primary account.
1.5 Service Disruption Any intentional attempt to cause lag or disrupt SpheraMC services will result in a permanent ban.
2. Behavior and Communication
2.1 Naming and Aesthetics Town names, usernames, nicknames, skins, and Towny titles must be appropriate. Explicit, sexual, toxic, or advertising-related content is prohibited.
2.2 Raiding Raiding and stealing from other players/towns is allowed. Players are responsible for securing their own assets.
2.3 Chat Standards
- Spam: Do not disrupt the chat flow with repetitive messages.
- Language: Use English only in global channels. Other languages are permitted in private or town chats.
- Advertising: Only server-related advertisements are allowed.
2.4 Prohibited Conduct We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:
- Derogatory language, or hate speech.
- Encouraging self-harm or violence.
- Sexual advances or explicit discussions.
- Grooming: Any attempt to form inappropriate relationships or coerce players (especially minors) is strictly prohibited on and off-platform.
- Toxicity: Staff reserves the right to define toxic behavior on a case-by-case basis.
2.5 Impersonation Do not impersonate other players, towns, or nations via names or skins.
2.7 Privacy (Doxing) Sharing anyone’s personal information (names, photos, addresses, IPs, social media, etc.) without explicit consent is strictly forbidden, regardless of whether they have shared it with you previously. Using such info for threats or manipulation is also prohibited.
2.8 Links Malicious links (viruses, IP loggers) and links to sexual or graphic/violent content are banned. This rule extends to the server Discord.
3. Griefing and Land Management
3.1 Protected Areas Damaging land inside or within 5 chunks of a claim is considered griefing.
- Penalty: First offense results in a warning and rollback. Repeated offenses result in a permanent ban.
- Examples: Cobble monsters, lava/water curtains, and entity cramming (e.g., mass chickens/boats).
3.2 Wilderness Rules Griefing is permitted in the wilderness (unclaimed land) unless it is in close proximity to a town.
- Exceptions: Major terrain grief can be rolled back upon request.
- Infrastructure: Breaking railways or ice roads that connect towns is prohibited, even in the wilderness.
3.3 Claims and Towny Conduct
- Claim Blocking: You may not use claims to intentionally block a neighbor’s expansion.
- Claim Arms: Protrusions used to “border” land without claiming it are prohibited (except for ships or temporary ocean outposts).
- Doughnut Claims: Towns must not leave unclaimed holes inside their borders to artificially save on claim limits.
- Overclaiming: If overclaiming a town’s chunks, you must not split that town into separate segments; the resulting town must remain contiguous.
3.4 Block Theft Stealing high-value blocks for their worth is allowed and is not classified as griefing. This does not apply to “cheap” or easily acquired blocks.
